COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, February 22, 2006 - After a test in Vallelunga, Italy, Nicolas Kiesa has been chosen to participate in both the Sebring 12 Hours and the Le Mans 24 Hours races in 2006 with the Aston Martin DBR9 owned by Jac Nellemann. He will be joined by Tomas Enge and Darren Turner in one of the Aston Martins, with Stephane Sarazzin, Pedro Lamy and Jason Bright in the other.
Nicolas comments: "First of all the test in Vallelunga was my first ever test in a sportscar. Previously I've only raced single seaters so I did not know what to expect or how I would get on.
"But I was very impressed to say the least. First of all the team was effient teaching me how to operate the car, and I had a nice non pressured environment. Not to mention the DBR9 that is such an efficient racing car and easy to drive.
"The test went well. I was as quick as the regular drivers by mid day on Day Two, and was able to put in some pretty consistent runs, thanks to a car which was very easy to drive and setup. On Day Two I was testing some aerodynamic parts, and was able to tell the difference on the car's handling with even minor changes, which was nice.
"Now I've been given the chance to race this impressive car, and I've realised I'm in a winning team. So I am very aware of the challenge ahead and I can't wait to get started. I am sure we will win races this year," concludes Kiesa.”
